Richard Trefz Williams, CFA, CMT is the Technical Strategist for CressCap Investment Research, a pioneer in the fusion of statistical computing systems and research analytics. Richard previously consulted with developing companies to raise capital. He was the Senior Enterprise Software Analyst at Cross Research, a boutique specializing in tech stock research. Richard was a Senior Software Analyst with ICAP Securities and Summit Analytic Partners, a firm he founded in 2001. Richard was the Senior Software Analyst at Jefferies & Co where he initiated coverage of technology stocks for the firm at the start of 1999.
Richard was the 8th person in the world to earn both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation. He was selected as the first ever runner-up for the 2000 Dow Award, the most prestigious award in Technical Analysis. Richard was also selected by Investors Business Daily as one of the top 3 stock pickers out of more than 255 software analysts. In 2004, Bloomberg magazine selected him at the top enterprise software analyst in its annual global survey. In June 2006, Richard was the top ranked software stock picker for 6, 12 and 18 months and again in 2007-08 according to Bloomberg ANR rankings. He continued to be a top-performing stock picker over the next several years. Richard graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA and Stern School at NYU with an MBA in finance. He is both a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Chartered Market Technician. Rich holds series 7, 16, 63, 65 & 68 licenses.
